Games Cafe

After 3 whole years of meeting up to play bridge (i dunno, we juz dun get sick of it, when we played last week we STILL laughed our way thru every game, i also dunno wat's so funny abt bridge, but somehow with our little *cough* cheating ways we made it fun), my bridgy gang finally met up do to smth other than bridgy. We went with Kaka and Bao di to Minds Cafe at Prinsep street.

It was the first time i went to a Games Cafe and i just adored it! Since young, i have always been a sucker for any type of board game or other sedentary game (i am not very fit lar), in fact, my fav game at pri 6 was Monopoly. Actually i still quite like it now. I remember in 2002 i stayed over at my friend's house on New Year's Eve. I was horribly late for work the next day and all my colleagues thought i went out to havoc when actually we just played Monopoly the whole night.

Anyway, we played this 'Telepathy' game which involved group members writing down words associated with a word or picture and we see how many words we got that were the same. Wah, never under-estimate sibling power loh, Bao and Bao di pulled way ahead of everyone else early on while Yan and I were the 'slowpokes'. It's really quite addictive leh i felt, i got a kick out of every point we got. And let me just announce here to the whole world that Liang coerced Kaka into cheating loh, he told her to write 'big' and the colour for everything. This explained why there were so many 'silver's (the first time they pulled the 'big' stunt on a penguin it was so ridiculous we banned it straight away.) He told me all these quite gleefully on our way home while i looked at him with disgust in my eyes.

After that we attempted to play 'Game of Life' which was quite cute (i think i'll like it in P6 too Bao) but we thought it was too draggy. And plus our food arrived. It TOTALLY SUCKED. Bleh!

Then we played our unanimously favourite game of the day: I'm The Boss. Where you negotiate, send pple away, bribe, threaten, make allies, brainwash the other investors into making money with you. Actually the rules only allowed you to do the first 2 but we all did everything by hook or by crook to make money. I was especially good at making deals with pple who want to 'send me away' and then making the Boss have no choice but to give us both more money. Bao di super good at threatening pple loh, while Yan very poor thingly got cut out of her deals by pple like Bao di. Strangely Liang din really get as ruthless as i expected leh (boo you dear).

Finally, we played a very fast game of Taboo. My first time playing leh and i couldn't really get the grasp of it, just 'er'ed my way thru. Liang also first time playing and this was how he described 'toy': "errrrr this is used to..... stimulate.... errrrr young adults......." Somebody shouted out 'aphrodisiac!' and we all collapsed into laughter and couldn't play anymore.

Hahaha... really very very very fun leh... We must go again within this month to get our free french fries and brownie k (sorry bao).
