Korean BBQ Buffet

Met up with my guitar pals and Huimin for Korean BBQ buffet!! After watching da chang jin (sob! it's ending sooooooooooon!!!!) i've been quite obsessed w korean cuisine, so when i read aiwen's blog abt e korean bbq place she went to, i ngeed-ed her abt it (actually according to her, i ngee ngee ngor ngor abt it, but i only asked her once, so in my book that constitute as a ngee-ed only) and we decided to eat there...

Actually we were hoping to watch Superband tog cos who better to discuss all the tiny nuances of the show, but sadly all the rooms are booked liaoz. Hmmm after watching superband, i quite miss those days in jc when our passion for guitar is such that we would even lug our guitars arnd in the hols to have our little jamming sessions. My poor guitar has been banished to the corner of my room liaoz.. ever since it started to sound funny.

The korean BBQ is at this ulu place called Excelsior hotel.. it's so ulu that at one point in time, Chris and i tot it's actually rather sleazy. The food is not too bad lar (and NO it is NOT like seoul garden) and i like the grilled saba fish which i always order when i eat at Korean stalls in food courts. Because nobody trusted my cooking skills, i was relegated the job of cooking the mushrooms and cabbage (that consisted of me sprinkling bits and pieces of veg in the soup base at edges of the pot so that i wouldn't take up the space at the centre of the pot where the impt cooking of the meats took place)

All in all i had quite an enjoyable time, the waitress was nice and the owner was really friendly and actually abit strange. While i was paying, he sudd juz said "everytime u come, i give u 30%" complete with korean accent and entusiastic look on face. "OK!" we all shouted back at him. And then he kept asking us to support korea at the world cup and shouted "korea go! go!" at the top of his voice and it seemed like he wouldn't let us go till we cheered too. So Aiwen and i sort of did a half-hearted cheer and waved our arms abt in midair, while Huimin dealt with two drunk uncles behind us who asked some very strange questions.

i wanted to juz take 1 photo of us so that i can capture aiwen in a skirt for all posterity but the waitress was so enthusiastic she started to design our shots and told us to take by the nicest wall in the restaurant..
