7 day hol part 3: a day of unnatural relations

Two months ago, we started talking abt Brokeback Mountain, and it brought up a lot of untold scandals, with ‘I wanna watch with you’s and ‘huh why you watch with her and not with me’s.
Two months later, after most of my friends have watched the movie already, we finally made a date to watch it, all together to minimize hurt feelings. (Hmmm I hope gh wasn’t hurt, maybe he wants to watch with wk)

I wasn’t really keen abt watching the movie la, cos I’m a tad homophobic and I dun wanna cry abt 2 gay guys (if the movie is sad I confirm will cry. Actually, sometimes when the movie is not sad, I also will cry. I teared abit during Sixth Sense. Yes, the horror flick)
Also, somebody specifically told me that under no circumstances am I allowed to watch the show, but I decided to ignore the old fogey cos my friends more impt mah.

Well actually, the real reason I was so willing to travel all the way frm my house to Bishan was because I can see David again at P’s hse. I was admiring her photos in her room when there was a shout for me to go into the living room, and I gasped in shock because there he was! Displayed on top of the tv for all to see. (I felt so scandalized on his behalf, my own postcard of David is hidden beneath my postcard of Mona Lisa hidden inside my drawer, where at least he can have some privacy) anyway, I din notice him at first because he was sort of dwarfed between an enormous Eiffel Tower and a bunch of tulips. I was outraged so I moved him to stand next to a tiny house and we all agreed he looked abit more majestic. Then wk came along and said he’d be happier between 2 girl statues and it was such an ‘aww’ moment when we tilted them to look at each other.

I wasn’t really embarrassed abt watching an R21 movie with my friends, so I dunno wat it was to make my sofamates so camera-shy.

What are they doing? Posted by Picasa

P was so kind to show us a censored version of the show because the all-important scene, that scene which was the only reason why I wanted to watch the movie in the first place, was errm… well, not very informative for the visually inclined. Zh delightedly informed us that if you were not cheapskates like us, the cinema version would be much clearer. Anyway, with the help of a running commentary and certain explanation of some sounds, we managed to make head and tail of the scene (crude pun not intended). Since the topic of Brokeback Mountain has been blogged about and discussed by everybody already, I shan’t talk abt it la, except that I wasn’t really very moved by the movie cos I din cry. Maybe it was the company, or the lack of subtitles or the not-for-the-visually-inclined scene, but my best guess is that I’m just too biased la and that is all the old fogey’s fault.

We also watched Transamerica which is so disgusting I’m not even going to blog abt it. Pls my dear blogders, let some good come out of the 2hrs we wasted on the movie, do NOT watch it.

At the end of our movie marathon, I left P’s hse feeling abit nauseated and needed to be reminded that normal, healthy relationships do exist.
