My first weekend off

Yesterday i was in the cso at 6.30pm preparing my presentation when suddenly a disembodied voice (you know how it is in the cso: never a good idea to gossip abt ur bosses or anyone for that matter there cos u never know who might be behind the partition beside you) that sounded like my consultant called out "JAMIE!"
I said, "yes?" uncertainly, half-expecting him to pop up and instruct me something that i have to do asap, and also half-thinking, "am i so sick i'm hearing voices?", and my con's disembodied voice called out again, "go home and have a good rest tmrw"

Awwww!
"Oh, thanks!" I called out to the room in the general direction of his voice, cos i still wasn't able to locate him.

But who cares cos:
Yay I got my first off in 6weeks today!
But i'm horribly horribly sick.. Bleh!
And i have to cover the fort all by myself tmrw, and present at xray conference on mon.. sigh
But it's ok... i'm still in a delirious mood... Never had i appreciated sleeping late on a Saturday more (actually i still got a few calls in the middle of the night cos i was supposed to be on call but a kind friend switched calls with me last min cos i'm sick (febrile Tmax i-dunno-lar-but-it-was-so-bad-i've-been-making-alot-of-silly-mistakes)

so it went like this:
4am..
Nurse: Dr Lee, i'm calling from ward 47, my patient.....
Me, croaking into the phone: Eh! I change call with Dr *** leh, can u call him instead?
Nurse (prob can't understand me cos of my cough-induced frog-like voice): huh? hello?
Me, screams: call Dr ***, he's the passive today!
Nurse: huh? Orh sorry
Me *hangs up*

Ah.. the joy of watching brainless weekend morning cartoons, slowly enjoying my morning cup of tea (without gulping down my breakfast at top speed so that i can eat faster than my bosses) and enjoying a morning dump haha

Anyway, are u guys absolutely furious abt our phone bills???
I had advanced warning abt it from the other HOs so i was mentally prepared, otherwise when i open my bill, i would have AMI-ed on the spot (btw, that was a good one, Wk)

My phone bill:
Incoming 890.5min $133.94
Outgoing 277.9min $41.74
SMS 109messages $5.45
Amount payable $52.60 !!!!!!!!!!WTH???!!!!!!

I kept track of my outgoing calls on my phone and i so did not make 300 minute of calls!!!!
Anyway, someone went to call 'the phone company concerned' and they said that everytime someone is unable to reach you and the call gets diverted to ur voicemail this is considered as 1 outgoing call.
And in 'my workplace' somehow the reception is horrendous at night so I can get up to 20-30 diverted calls during one nightcall, so my advice is cancel the call divert function on your phone NOW.
'The phone company concerned' also agreed to reimburse us our supposedly free SMSes next month...
