My First in 5 weeks

Today after exit round, my con said out of the blue, "Jamie, go off first."

I'm so used to them saying "Jamie, go to here-and-here and do this-and-this" and "Jamie, go to there NOW and get that done NOW", I just sort of stared at him with a "huh? go where?" look on my face (also, I'm post-call, so mentation drops by 70%), and he said again, "go off first. This is an order. The rest will do ur work for you." I opened my mouth to protest, and he said, "this is an order. I want you all to go home and rest so that i can overwork you again tmrw." Haha.

And that was how I got my first post-call in 5weeks. Even though that was at 12noon on a sunday but I still very happy le.
In fact I was so ecstatic that i'm finally leaving the hospital in the 'early afternoon' that i immediately arranged for a 'k-lunch' session. And realised that singing with only 30min of sleep the previous day is not a good idea at all, totally lost my voice in 3hrs.

Hope i dun get scolded tmrw.

Yay I like my new team! Will definitely enjoy my remaining three weeks here, and then 11days of countdown to my long awaited leave. I can't wait!

Hope u guys are doing ok too...

What I learnt from the past month: You may be worked to the very core of your being, you may be hanging to the last threads of your sanity, you may go home in tears everyday, you may see nothing ahead of you but day after day of non-stop work.
But once you get out of this darkest times of your life, the relief and the incredulity at actually coping with your work and finishing ahead of time is the best gift you can ever receive.

Hang in there guys!
