Ooh the world cup match is starting in 20minutes.. so exciting got my beloved Germany. I’m kinda hoping that Germany will win the Cup this year (you my smart friends should know what usually happens when I say a sentence like this) but Catechol, the self-proclaimed esteemed soccer guru, thinks that’s rubbish.
My test today was very easy, to the point that when the guy (I dunno who he is, shld be a dr) was going thru the answers, everyone will mostly just say the answer out as one. Except for this question: “Flame-shaped hemorrhages and soft exudates are features of..”
The whole Lt chorused, “hypertension” in an ‘obviously’ kind of voice, and the guy went like “Hypertension?????!!!!! Should be diabetes!” And we all went, “huh??????????!!!!”
Everybody thought it was hypertension, and all the past-year papers said that it’s hypertension so naturally there was quite an uproar. Stella, as usual, immediately started to argue with the tutor and everybody got quite agitated until Winston said loudly, “AIYAH one question only, give them lar!” And we all shut up and left the Lt, I noticed the tutor was the first guy who ran out.
Because my mum sms-ed me yesterday to ask me abt the test, I quickly sms-ed her after my test that the test is ok hoping she’ll get the hint and not sms me again thus saving one sms. But she replied immediately with this, “good. Well done. I can relax more now.” -_-" AS IF she has not been having the time of her life eating and shopping in Taiwan for the past 5 days! And purple-ly leaving just one week before my hols some more grrrrrr….
(It’s scary how my mum behaves so much like me sometimes).
Since my dad knows that I would most probably eat instant noodles and cup noodles all the time, he has taken upon himself the task of ensuring that I eat healthily. But the thing is, whenever he buys from the extremely crowded and a lot of stalls People’s Park Market, he would ALWAYS ONLY buy from the herbal soup stall: the soup of the day + either steam pork with preserved veg OR steam chicken wings + rice. And since my mum goes on holidays every so often (like 4 times a year), I have eaten more than 50 herbal soup sets in my lifetime, so naturally I’m extremely sick of eating it. The day before my test, because I’m too lazy to cook, I told him to buy for both lunch and dinner and guess what.. he came home at 12pm with TWO bowls of the SAME soup + the steam pork and the chicken wings + TWO packets of rice.
So cute, my dad. I didn’t have the heart to say anything cos I think he’s too busy to think abt what food to buy, so I usually say things like, “err I may be going out today so maybe you no need to buy food” and then secretly cooking my favourite tom yum maggi mee or going to the hawker near my house to buy the tom yum soup there (I’m eternally grateful to Wk for recommending that stall to me).
My market only has a maximum of 4 food stalls open at any one time and when I was still an innocent young girl in secondary school, I used to buy from the chicken rice stall cos I think the old aunties very poor thing as they don’t seem to have any business at all. I remember that it wasn’t very nice and my mum failed it as the rice is cold. So I didn’t have the guts to try the other stalls in that market (honestly, they all look very sad). Then subsequently, as I return home from school at a later and later time, I realized that the chicken rice stall seems to be open all the time, with the seemingly ubiquitous lone chicken hanging there. Like even at 10pm when all the other stalls have closed and there are no customers and the market is very dark. When I told this story to Catechol, he gave me a look and said in a ghostly voice, “hmmm… they’re open all the time???” and succeeded in freaking me out.
But the tom yum is really very nice, and so is the auntie. She always call me “pretty girl” (she calls everybody “pretty girl” and “shuai ge”) and many a time I bought from her because of that.. hahahaha.
Wah I’m like having blog diarrhoea today! Need to go off to watch the match liaoz… Seems like my score prediction is coming true!
