My friend's sister asked me to write her a list of medicine interview questions and i thought i would paste my reply here, to bring up memories of the good ol' days and also thinking back now, the interview was kinda fun wasn't it, compared to say, the vivas?

c'mon let's all think back to that fateful day 2 years ago...
.
.
My interview was rather personalised, they started with asking abt my cca and then asked questions from my reply, kind of like having a conversation with 3 uncles. There are usually 3 interviewers, a mean guy, a nice one and someone from dentistry. The meanie can get rather mean. My friend got criticised for her lousy SAT language score and my senior argued, rather rudely, with the interviewer why he should be given a chance to get into medicine. I remember the mean guy kept challenging my answers and was saying some chim medical terms to trick me.
Any topic under the sun that could be asked, would be asked. My junior walked in carrying a violin case and they asked her to play a piece for them. Basically it's a stress test, it's not about the answers but rather your personality. Try to be confident and thick skinned, afterall you have nothing to lose. (unless you're suay like me and got ur interviewer for ur tutor AND he remembers you AND he asks you for a lunch treat.) Give them this impression: hey, i can handle anything you throw at me, yo i'm cool.. man.
Here's a list of questions that have been asked before, good luck and i'm waiting for your good news!
1. Why do you want to be a doctor (yawnz.. you can give them the 'help people' spiel but at least try to sound sincere)
2. How do you handle stress
3. What specialty do you want to go into?
4. Who is our current health minister?
5. What do you know about singapore's health policies?
6. Sunshine or Gardenia? (yes we're talking abt bread here)
7. What do you understand by "$#$%$%%^" (some chim chinese proverb which i've forgotten)?
8. What do you do to relax?
9. What is the meaning of your name?
yada yada yada.......
